What you will find in every course

Each of our courses has some common elements that are tried-and-tested. We think that the combination of these different elements creates a programme which can be transformational for students and help teachers to have a real impact in their classrooms.

Read on to find out more about each of these, and how they come together over the whole course.

  • image-Accreditation Option Accreditation Option

We’re really pleased to offer the option of accreditation for all our programmes, so that over the year students can achieve an additional GCSE-equivalent qualification, without a final exam. If you take up this option, you will need to register with NCFE and pay for the qualification entries.

  • image-Weekly Resources Weekly Resources

Developed by outstanding teachers, and tried and tested, every week you can download the resources and be ready in ten minutes. Alongside full Schemes of Work you’ll find a bevy of lesson plans, presentations, games and exciting cross-referencing tools if you do decide to pursue the accredited route.

  • image-Teacher Training & Support Teacher Training & Support

You will receive a great day of teacher training so you know exactly what’s going on, and then continued support from a dedicated member of our team.
If you want ideas for students’ businesses, a critical eye on students’ portfolios, or a risk assessment for an event, we’re there. We draw the line at hugs.

  • image-Events Events

Over the year, you can bring some students along to three events – one each term. In the past these have included an entrepreneurship conference, business game day, business plan competition and celebration evening. These are great trips, a motivation for students and are real aspiration-raisers. The core programme includes ten students per event.

Before you get started in your school, you need to register here.
Once this happens, we will send you log-in access to the shared area that has all the teaching resources, let you know about events and teacher training. You can get started straight away.

Once you’ve registered, you will be invited along to teacher training. This will cover everything that you need to know about the course, the accreditation (if you are using it), and an introduction to practical learning. You can start delivering before you attend the training though.

Once you are registered you will receive access to all the teaching resources for this qualification. This means a total of around 35 weekly lesson plans, a full scheme of work, presentations to show, and all the materials for suggested activities.
All of our resources are produced by outstanding teachers who know what teachers need.

Over the year you will be invited to bring ten students (at a minimum) along to three different events, in collaboration with our supporters. Whether presenting a business plan at Oliver Wyman consultants, teleconferencing with the Paris office at Freshfields, or learning about marketing with UBS bank, the events are memorable, motivating and aspiration-raising.

If you choose the option of accreditation, over the year your students will be putting together a portfolio of evidence to show what they have achieved. Once moderated, the vast majority of our students achieve a GCSE-equivalent qualification. Even without this thought, our Impact Analysis programme shows that students make great leaps in their skills.
